Edogawa Collection Exhibits at MUJI Ginza’s Community Market

From Friday, February 21 to Sunday, February 23, the Community Market: Edogawa Collection Edition was held on the 4th floor Open MUJI space at MUJI Ginza.

The Community Market is an event where local vendors sell foods and specialty goods, and also host hands-on workshops. This time, 15 partners previously featured in the Edogawa Collection took part in the event.

At the venue, visitors found a selection of collaborative products made by MUJI creators and Edogawa Collection partners, such as the dog bowl from Takahashi Shibori Kogyo, furin (wind chimes) from Shinohara Furin, and the shimenawa (sacred straw rope) kit from Nawachu. In addition, Edogawa-grown produce like komatsuna from K&K Farm and barley tea and roasted soybean flour from Ogawa Industrial were on display, alongside traditional crafts such as Edo sensu (folding fans) and suminagashi-dyed marbled stoles.

During the event, workshops were also held where participants could try their hand at Edogawa’s traditional crafts. Attendees eagerly engaged in techniques such as Edo sensu making, Edo glass, Edo katazome (stencil dyeing), and suminagashi (ink marbling).

A range of specialty items from Edogawa City lined the Community Market tables. In the back left, the red wind chime Ginza no Yanagi to Gasuto (Willows and Gas Lamps of Ginza) was launched at this event.

The dog bowl in the front right also made its debut at this Community Market.
